Submission on the Initial Proposed Employment Accessibility Standard

The Initial Proposed Employment Accessibility Standard is primarily concerned with detailed requirements that organizations must comply with to ensure that workplaces are accessible to people with disabilities.  ARCH’s expertise is in disability law, and thus our submission addresses concerns the Employment Accessibility Standard that are of a legal nature.  Our submission addresses the following:

  1. Relationship between the AODA and Ontario’s Human Rights Code
  2. Identification and Removal of Barriers at Each Stage of the Employment Cycle
  3. Timelines and Exemptions
