Litigation Clerk
Full Time – Contract (1 year)

ARCH Disability Law Centre is a specialty legal clinic, primarily funded by Legal Aid Ontario, dedicated to defending and advancing the equality rights of persons with disabilities across Ontario.

ARCH seeks a dynamic, hard-working, self-starter to join our litigation team. You will work with a creative team of lawyers who practice primarily in test case litigation at various tribunals and all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada. Join us and help make a difference in our communities.

The Litigation Clerk will be an integral part of the litigation team, and will have strong communication and legal research skills, and lead the administrative aspects of case files.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a law/litigation clerk;
• Superior computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro;
• Familiarity with relevant tribunal and court rules including the Rules of Civil Procedure, and rules of procedure other courts including the Supreme Court of Canada and Federal courts;
• Demonstrated ability to balance deadlines and work well within a team;
• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills including accuracy and attention to detail;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and under pressure, meeting strict deadlines.

• Familiarity with ARCH’s areas of legal practice;
• Prior knowledge and experience working with disability and low income communities; and
• Fluency in French, American Sign Language (ASL) and/or langue des signes québécoise (LSQ).

This is a full-time, 1 year contract. The annual salary range is $55,000 to $70,000 depending on experience, with health benefits.
