List of issues prior to submission of the second periodic report of Canada, Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Before reviewing Canada’s implementation of the CRPD, the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities released a List of issues document. This document asks Canada to report on particular issues and rights for persons with disabilities. Submission of Canadian Civil Society Organizations to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
On the List of Issues Prior to Reporting [Canada] to be adopted during the 22nd Session of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

A group of more than 55 disabled persons organizations and civil society organizations, including ARCH, sent a submission to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on July 26, 2019.  The submission describes the situation of persons with disabilities in Canada in relation to each of the rights and freedoms in the CRPD. The submission also suggests which issues and questions the UN Canada should ask Canada to report on, in the List of issues document.

Submissions from Other Organizations

Other disabled persons organizations, civil society organizations and human rights commissions also sent submissions to the UN Committee to give input into the List of issues document. These organizations include Autistic United Canada, Ontario Network of Injured Workers Groups and the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
