Get Involved with Respecting Rights

There are many ways self-advocates (persons labelled with an intellectual or developmental disability) can become involved with Respecting Rights!

Attend our Quarterly Meetings:

Four times per year, Respecting Rights hosts virtual meetings for self-advocates from across Ontario, Canada. During these meetings, Respecting Rights provides updates on the work that we are doing and how self-advocates can become involved. This year at our March 2024 meeting, Respecting Rights hosted our first networking event where we invited other self-advocate groups from across the province to present on all of the great work that they are doing as well. The networking initiative was a success and Respecting Rights plans to make it an annual event!

Interested in attending the next Quarterly Meeting? The dates for the 2024 Quarterly Meetings are:

Friday March 22nd from 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Friday June 28th from 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Friday September 20th 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Friday December 13th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Toronto Self-Advocates – Attend our Monthly Coffee and Advocacy Meetings!

Funded by the City of Toronto, Coffee and Advocacy provides people labelled with an intellectual or developmental disability the opportunity to learn about their legal rights, meet new people, make friends and discuss disability rights issues that are important to them.

Coffee and Advocacy meetings are held either virtually or in person.
