ARCH is Seeking Board Members
ARCH Disability Law Centre (ARCH) is a specialty legal clinic dedicated to defending and advancing the equality rights of low-income persons with disabilities who live in Ontario. For more information about our work, please visit: www.archdisabilitylaw.ca
ARCH’s Nominating Committee invites applications from those interested in serving on the governance Board of Directors of ARCH. This is a volunteer position with a two-year term. The Board of ARCH provides strategic leadership and general direction, makes policy, oversees the organization’s general performance, and ensures overall accountability.
ARCH is currently seeking to fill two vacant positions on its Board of Directors. For this term, due to funder restrictions, we are only able to accept applications from those who reside in the City of Toronto.
According to ARCH’s by-laws, the Board is to be composed of 15 directors, a majority of which must be persons with disabilities. The Committee welcomes applicants from equity seeking groups including those with lived experience with disability, poverty, racialized communities, or who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis). The Committee also welcomes applicants who are Francophone.
In particular, the Committee is seeking candidates with non-profit governance and finance experience.
Disability accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
