Nov 6 – 9:30AM ET: Watch/listen live to LEAF-DAWN-ARCH intervene in Supreme Court case R v Slatter

In coalition with Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) and DisAbled Women’s Network of Canada (DAWN), ARCH is going to the Supreme Court to advocate for better access to justice for women labelled with intellectual disabilities who are complainants in sexual assault cases.

Our intervention in R v Slatter will be argued at the Supreme Court of Canada on Friday, November 6, at 9:30am ET. The LEAF-DAWN-ARCH coalition will argue that a substantive equality analysis requires the Court to assess witnesses’ evidence based on the actual abilities and individual circumstances of women with disabilities, as opposed to generalizations about their disabilities.

To watch/listen to the oral arguments on November 6th, go to the Supreme Court’s live webcast: https://scc-csc.ca/case-dossier/info/webcast-webdiffusion-eng.aspx?cas=38870
